Speak out, stay strong, spread kindness
Understanding Bullying
Bullying is when someone is mean or hurtful on purpose. It can happen at school, online, or anywhere you spend time with other kids. Bullying can look different - it might be teasing, hitting, saying hurtful things, or leaving someone out.
If someone is bullying you, remember: you are not alone! Lots of kids face bullying, and there are ways to handle it safely.
Tips to Cope with Bullying
Here are some tips to help you feel strong and confident if you are being bullied:
🗣️. Talk to Someone
Always tell someone you trust, like a parent, teacher, or friend. Talking about how you feel can make you feel better and less alone.
🦸♀️. Stand Tall and Stay Safe
When a bully is mean, try to stay calm and stand tall. Showing confidence can sometimes stop bullies. But if you ever feel unsafe, it’s okay to walk away and get help.
👧👧👧. Find Your Support Group
Be around friends and people who make you feel safe and happy. Friends can cheer you on, help you cope, and be there for you when things get hard.
How to Report Bullying
If bullying doesn’t stop, it’s important to tell an adult. This is not snitching - it’s keeping yourself safe!
📝. Write It Down
Keep a note of what happened, when, and where. Writing it down helps adults understand what’s going on.
🧑🏫. Tell a Teacher or School Counselor
Show your notes to a trusted adult at school. They can help make sure the bullying stops.
⏰. Check Back
After you’ve told someone, keep in touch with them to see that the problem is being fixed.
Building Your Confidence
Being resilient means bouncing back when things are hard. You can build resilience by doing things that make you happy, like art, sports, music, writing, or other hobbies. When you feel good about yourself, it’s easier to deal with bullying.
Remember
Bullying is never okay, and you don’t have to face it alone. With friends, family, teachers, and the right strategies, you can rise above bullying and help make your school a happier and safer place!
